1895 - on the route Paris - Bordeaux - Paris held the world's first motor racing. The average speed of the winner Emil Levasser, who overcame the distance in 48 hours 48 minutes, was 24 km/h. At the end of the competition, he said: "It was insane! I drove at a speed of 30 kilometers per hour!".

1888 - a monument to Bogdan Khmelnitsky was unveiled in Kiev on Sofia Square as part of the celebration of the 900th anniversary of the adoption of Christianity. The idea of creating the monument arose among the public on the initiative of the historian, professor of the Kiev University Nikolai Kostomarov in the 1840s.

1912 - near the village of Malaya Pereschepina of the Constantinople district of Poltava province (now Novosanzharsky district, Poltava region), a memorial complex of more than 800 items, identified by scientists as the grave of Khan Kubrat, was accidentally found.
1930 - American zoologist William Bob and engineer Otis Burton descended on the bathysphere they built to a depth of 400 meters. Two years later they reached a depth of 900 meters, but due to the fact that the bathysphere descended from the ship on a steel cable and there was a real threat of its breakage, subsequent experiments were stopped.
