In the summer of 2018, in the ancient fortress city of Samshvilde, a treasure of gold and bronze coins was found in the ancient fortress city of Samshvilde in the territory of Tetritskarogo municipality (Kvemo-Kartli region).

We are talking about more than 270 coins that were minted by various state entities that existed on the territory of modern Georgia in the XII-XIII centuries.

Among the coins found that Georgian archeologists and scientists have already managed to inspect are coins that were minted during the reign of Georgian kings George III (1156-1184) and George IV Lasha (1191-1223).

There is a coma and coins that saw the light and walked on the territory of Georgia during the reign of Queen Tamara (1166-1213).

In addition to the coins, copper plates and copper discs were found, which were blanks for minting coins.
