The lengthy trials related to the treasures of the Spanish galleon Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes were completed in 2012. The values, raised from the sunken ship, were returned to Spain and partially exhibited for all to see.

In 2012, almost 600,000 antique coins of gold and silver were displayed at the Museum of Underwater Archeology in Cartagena, and in 2013 at exhibitions and in other Spanish cities.

The Spanish galleon "Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes", among whose remains were found treasures, carried silver and gold coins, which were minted in Latin America in the 19th century.

Galleon was sunk in 1804 by British warships off the Portuguese coast near Gibraltar. At that time, there were 200 people on board.
