These photos were created by the British photographer Samuel Bourne. He spent 7 fruitful years in India. Born arrived in Calcutta in 1863 to professionally engage in photography. After working as a bank clerk, he was fond of photography and decided to turn the hobby into a main occupation after the success of his work at local and international exhibitions in Nottingham and London.
