Action Figures - what is it?

Action figure is a doll, the prototype of which is the character of a movie, comic book or book. It is equipped with moving parts that allow it to take different poses. In addition to this, the figures have a variety of accessories - clothing, weapons, vehicles and others.

The term "action figure" was first used in 1964 by Don Levin. With his help, he wanted to describe a new toy G.I. Joe. In his opinion, "action figure" sounded more attractive than just a doll. The toy was highly mobile and was equipped with numerous accessories and equipment.

In 1969 G.I. Joe received a sequel in the form of action game heroes. The figurine was sold with various costumes and accessories from different heroes, including Phantom, Captain America, Batman, Superman and Spiderman.

In 1977, the film company XX century Fox gave a license to produce action figures for his new film Star Wars company Kenner.

With the release in 1984 of the series "Transformers", action figures were significantly modernized. It was released several generations of toys, which were also doomed to success.

After the release in 1994 of Todd McFlaren's comic Spawn, the world of action figures again changed. The creator of the comics was directly involved in the production of toys. These figures were made from more parts than any other figure.
