Members of the Historical Research Society of the Legnitz Principality in the process of finding traces of the battle with the Mongols, which occurred near Legnitsa in 1241, found a treasure.
Search engines managed to find Arab dirhams and decorations.
“We know that these are Arab dirhams, that is, coins that came to Europe from Islamic countries. In this case we are talking about Arab coins minted in the tenth century. There are also Western European coins, pieces of jewelry and scrap silver. This is a classic example of the so-called siege treasures or treasures, in which money was not the main value, but it was about the total weight of the precious metal. Separate coins have holes, perhaps they were used as decorations, ”said local archaeologist Tomash Stolyarchik.
