Maximilian Marie Isidore Robespierre (b.1758, um.1794) - one of the main figures of the French revolution.He was a lawyer, and he was good at public speaking. The location of the people to themselves Maximilian won because of his fiery speeches and reputation of integrity.

Robespierre reigned in the club of the Jacobins. And after the fall of the Legislative Assembly and the coming to power of the Convention - became the most popular revolutionary. Against people who did not support the revolution, Maximilian arranged mass executions with the help of the guillotine. According to some historians, about 40,000 people were executed within 10 months without trial.

Robespierre sent soldiers to participate in battles are clearly failing. For example, in the Vendée rebellion (Vendée), which killed more than a hundred thousand people. But in the end, the fear of executions gave strength to the opponents of the revolutionary. He met serious resistance on the public safety Committee.

On 27 July 1794 he was arrested and then imprisoned in the Conciergerie prison. At the time of his arrest, he tried to kill himself with a gun, but only received a jaw wound. The next day, the dictator suffered the same fate as his victims. He was executed by the guillotine.
