In the summer of 2018, over a thousand medieval artifacts were found on the territory of the site for building one of the districts of Tallinn.

Construction work on the construction of a new residential building was preceded by archaeological research. The result of the excavation was the discovery of artifacts dating from the end of the XV century.

Their value lies in two nuances. First, the time of dating, which makes them very rare for the archeological world of Estonia. Secondly, the finds were removed from the layer, where the access of oxygen and moisture was limited, which allowed them to remain very well. First of all, it concerns wood and leather products.

In addition, scientists managed to dig up samples of ceramics, jewelry, chess and dices. Fragments of a 15th century window glass were also found, depicting a medieval musician, as well as a ring in the Gothic style of the 14th-15th centuries depicting a mythical animal.
