One of the first mentions of the Church of Mary Magdalene in Lviv dates back to the 17th century. Once it belonged to the Dominicans, but at different times it was used in many ways. Now here is the Lviv house of organ and chamber music.

In 1995, during the archaeological excavations, under the altar part of the temple was found a real treasure - 26 gold coins. They were wrapped in dense material, which was once a kind of purse.

25 coins for 20 francs and 1 coin with a denomination of 10 francs. The weight of one 20-franc coin is 6.45 grams. The inscriptions on them testify that they were minted in France during the reign of Napoleon III and the Republic.

The coins were hidden between two bricks under the threshold. The nail was hammered into the threshold itself. Obviously, it was a mark on which it was possible to find a treasure.

The oldest coin from the treasure is dated 1853 and the newest - 1913 year. After carrying out all the research, the treasure was transferred to the Lviv Museum of the History of Religion.
