June 26, 1896 in New Orleans (USA, Louisiana) opened the world's first cinema, which operated continuously. It was designed for 400 seats.

1906 - near the city of Le Mans, car racing began at the Grand Prix of France, the world's first Grand Prix with racing, in which the victory was won by Hungarian Ferenc Sis, who played for the Renault team.

1925 - in Hollywood premiere of Charlie Chaplin's film "Gold Rush", in which he was a screenwriter, director, producer and performer of the main role. In 1953, the "Gold Rush" was recognized as the public domain of the United States.

1935 - the launch of the stratosphere "USSR-1-bis", which reached an altitude of 16 km.

1945 - At the San Francisco conference, representatives of 50 states signed the Charter of the United Nations (UN).

1948 - American physicist William Shockley, who worked at Bell Labs, filed a patent for a bipolar transistor. The first real prototype based on germanium was produced the following year.

1976 - Toronto opened the world's tallest at that time construction of a Canadian national tower 553.34 meters high.

1979 - with the words "... everything is getting old and the years are taking their toll." Muhammad Ali announced his decision to resign from the world champion in boxing among heavyweights and send a letter to the World Boxing Association (WBA) on this matter. This was his third and last statement on the termination of the professional career of the boxer.

1988 - at the air show at the French city of Mulhouse, the first accident of the Airbus A320 aircraft took place, 3 people were killed.
