June 27, 1663 on the outskirts of Nezhin began Cossack Rada, known as the "Black", on which the hetman of the Left Bank Ukraine was elected Ivan Bryukhovetsky. His opponents were hetman Yakim Somko and Nezhinsky Colonel Vasily Zolotarenko. They were soon arrested and convicted on charges of having ties to the Polish gentry.

1693 - in London, the world's first women's magazine - "The Ladies Mercury".

1871 - the yen became the new monetary unit of the Japanese Empire.

1898 - Canadian navigator Joshua Slokam on the sloop "Spray" completed his solitary circumnavigation, which began on April 24, 1895. For three years, Slokam rounded the globe, breaking more than 74 thousand kilometers. In 1900 he described this voyage in the book "Sailing around the Earth".

1905 - the rebellion began on the battleship Potemkin - one of the notable events of the revolution of 1905-1907 and the first case of armed rebellion of the whole military unit during this revolution.

1929 - in the New York laboratories of Bella company demonstrated the system of color television transmission.

1931 - in the United States inventor Igor Sikorsky received a patent for the invention of the first helicopter.

1954 - in the Swiss city of Bern at the stadium "Wankdorf" the quarterfinal match of the World Cup was held between the teams of Brazil and Hungary. This match went down in history as the "Battle of Bern" and ended with a victory of the Hungarians with a score of 4-2, the removal of three players from the field and a mass fight after the final whistle, which involved players, coaches, medical staff, judges and police.
