February 6, 1663 in England began chasing gold guinea. The proclamation of King Charles II on March 27, 1663, gave the coin the status of the main gold coin of the kingdom.

1806 - Napoleonic Wars: The Battle of San Domingo - the battle between the British and French squadrons near the island of Santo Domingo, between the capes of Nisao and Catalana. The last classic squadron battle of the century sail.

1819 - Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, a representative of the British East India Company, signed an agreement with the Sultan of Johor to organize a trade zone in Singapore with the permission of immigration of different ethnic groups.

1899 - The US Senate ratified the Treaty of Paris, ending the Spanish-American War of 1898.

1921 - Józef Pilsudski awarded the Order of Virtuti Militari to the French city of Verdun. Verdun became the second (after Lviv) city awarded this order (Warsaw was also awarded the Order for the September war).

1936 - The IV Olympic Winter Games started in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Opened the game Adolf Hitler.

1945 - The I World Trade Union Conference, organized by the British Trade Union Congress, begins its work in London. A World Trade Union Federation is being created.

1968 - the Soviet astronomer Lyudmila Chernykh in the Crimean Observatory, discovered the asteroid of the main belt "Gagarin".

1987 - Annual Olof Palme Prize, awarded for outstanding achievements in human rights activities, was established in Sweden in memory of Olof Palme.
