This car was purchased in Moscow at the end of 2008. Once he was taken out of the USSR, he worked at the Embassy of Belgium, drove diplomats.

The 1965-1970 Chevrolet Impala belonged to the same GM B-body as the previous one. But technically the car was very seriously modernized. It was equipped with a spring suspension of all wheels, the frame from the X-shaped turned into a more massive peripheral.

The body was also completely new. Unlike the strict, even a little ascetic Impala of 1962-1964, the next generation had a pronounced aggressive design with a sidewall line of the coke bottle type, typical of a muscular second half of the sixties. Side windows curved, on hardtops they did not have frames.

As for this particular Chevrolet Impala 1969 release, after the purchase, he stood untouched for a long time. Which, naturally, left an imprint on his appearance.

The restoration was as follows. First, the body is completely cleared of old paint, trimmed to the metal. Then it was primed and repainted with high quality.

As for all components and assemblies, it was decided to leave the originals. This also applies to the 6-cylinder engine, a volume of 4.1 liters.

As you know, the factory version of this car was equipped with a manual 3-speed gearbox with a shift lever on the steering column. It was decided to leave everything as it is, because for the owner of the 1969 Chevrolet Impala, the most important thing was its authenticity.
