In Miami, on February 15, 1933, the anarchist Giuseppe Zingara made an attempt on the life of the newly elected US President Franklin Roosevelt. The bullet hit the Chicago mayor Anton Chermak. The president was not touched by any of the fired bullets.

In 1928, Franklin Roosevelt became governor of New York, and in 1932 - the 32nd President of the United States. Sick of polio, so it moves in a wheelchair. The country is experiencing a deep crisis, many lose their jobs, banks and enterprises go bankrupt.

Roosevelt's New Deal was the beginning of the transformation of the United States into a socially-oriented state, including support for the unemployed, job creation, reorganization of entrepreneurship, reduced working hours, raising the minimum wage, voluntary labor service, restricting competition.

February 15, the president was supposed to give a speech in Miami. At that moment, when the door of the presidential limousine opened, a shot rang out. Shot the 33-year-old unemployed mason Giuseppe Zingara. The bullet hit the belly of the Chicago mayor Anton Chermak, who died three weeks later.

Zingaro was first sentenced to 80 years in prison, but after Chermak's death, the verdict was heightened - on March 20, the murderer sat on an electric chair.
