The pendant with the mythical name “Golden Fleece” from the Dutch museum in the city of Tel turned out to be fake. The fake was accidentally discovered by museum director Alexandra van Stein.

"During one of the checks, I noticed a dark spot on the Golden Rune. However, this usually does not happen with precious metals like gold. A closer examination revealed that the suspension is too light to be golden," she said.

If you believe the museum catalog, the suspension is dated 1559 year. She belonged to the knight Klaus Veiga.

After an examination of the suspicion of rigging the suspension, it was established that the exhibit was made of copper and coated with a thin layer of gold. The study involved experts from the Cultural Heritage Agency.

It was also found that the suspension was made in Paris in the middle of the XX century. It was made by the company for the production of theatrical scenery.

Until clarification of the circumstances, the fake pendant will remain in the museum.
