The evolutionary transformation of society has made hunting not only a means of obtaining food, but also added recreational value to it. It became important to demonstrate the accuracy of the shot, visual acuity, psychological and physical data during game hunting. Hunting trophies became a source of pride.

At the same time, the role of women in society in terms of hunting also changed: from the keeper of the family hearth, who peacefully awaited her husband with prey, to mastering the art of shooting. And this despite the generally accepted standards of morality and prejudice that a woman on a hunt brings bad luck.

Often the ladies did not take part in the hunt, but accompanied their noble gentlemen. For example, Prince Don Miguel Branganza hunted in the Carpathians in the grounds of Jan Lichtenstein, accompanied by his wife Teresa. The tradition to take on the hunt of women was in the Potocki family.

Women's hunting had its gender characteristics. If the men concentrated on trophy extraction, then the women - on their hunting image: from the costumes of the Amazons to the strict midi skirts. Sometimes even the most expensive English rifle was just a fashionable addition to the image. Although some Galician women still could boast of an accurate shot and worthy trophies.

But the place of hunting for women was not limited only to land, and the weapon - carbines and rifles. Their main weapon was in her purse - powder, lipstick, eyeliner. And they shot their eyes, aiming at the heart. As for this hunt, women can be considered real poachers: they hunt where, when and how you like.
