These are archival images of one of the most closed countries in the world - North Korea. They were made from 1979 to 1987 by Japanese photojournalist Hiroji Kubota, a full member of the Magnum agency.
The photographer traveled all over the Asian region, trying to show it for what it is. He showed honesty and uniqueness, in his works there is no pursuit of fleeting sensations.
And, despite the fact that more than 40 years have passed since the shooting of some photos, it is extremely interesting to look at them. The photographer showed North Korea the way it really is. 100% photojournalism.
