The Royal Canadian Mint has issued a numismatic novelty in the shape of an egg with a baby dinosaur.

The Mint dedicated the egg-shaped coin to the dinosaur species discovered in 1987 at the Devil's Cooley in southern Alberta, Canada. It was there that paleontologists from the Royal Tyrrell Museum found eggs and even 75 million-year-old embryos.

The product design was developed by Julius T. Chotoni, a paleontology scientist in Drumheller, Alberta.

The obverse of the coin shows the image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the corresponding inscriptions.

On the reverse, the young Hypacrosaurus stebinger is shown in color, which emerges from the egg against the background of the prehistoric landscape of evergreen, coniferous, shrub and low-growing plants.

When activated, the glowing in the dark reveals the skeleton of Hypacrosaurus stebingeri. This technology can be activated through the capsule.
