Charlie Chaplin - English comedian, actor, director, composer, who gained fame in the era of silent movies. Fame to this man came after the movie "The Tramp", filmed in 1915. But even today it is considered to be a landmark for world cinema.

In 1919, Charlie Chaplin became a co-founder of the distribution studio United Artists. This allowed him to manage his films. His first full-length film - "The Kid" (1921), followed by the tapes "Parisian" (1923), "Gold Rush" (1925) and "Circus" (1928).

And even after in the 1930s films were replaced with silent films with sound, Chaplin remained unchanged in his traditions. He made silent films "The Fires of the Big City" (1931) and "New Times" (1936). And the picture of 1940 “The Great Dictator” became a frank satire on Adolf Hitler.
