A 64-year-old British resident has an unusual hobby. She assembles houses: an alpine chalet, a Georgian-style mansion, an art deco house, and more. A total of 9 houses. But Katina Beale of Northamptonshire is not a real estate millionaire. She invests all her money in doll houses.

Although they cost her no cheaper than real estate for people. A woman thoroughly repairs her doll houses, furnishes furniture in 1/20 of life size, and during her passion she spent more than $ 65,000 on it.

Katin's hobby is not an isolated case. Increasingly, not only women but also men are trying to hide from the hardships of reality behind the doll life. There are about 1000 craftsmen in the country who make doll furniture. And to some of them have to be recorded in 2 years.

The furnishings for a doll house cost not much less than for a human dwelling. Thus, two pairs of silver candlesticks cost Katya $ 450, and silver frames framed in photographs of Katina and her late husband, John, cost $ 65. Red and white kitchen pots cost $ 22 each. In total, the mansion cost Katina about $ 20,000.

The art deco mansion once cost Katrina $ 2,000. Now she has insured him for $ 30,000. Only Japanese-style furniture cost the owner more than $ 6,000, the wallpaper cost $ 200, and the mohair poodle cost $ 150.

“These are not children's toys, but quite an adult occupation. I have a very rich social life. I love to go to good restaurants, I go to theaters. But this hobby reassures me. There is much to worry about in life. We cannot control many things. But we can control our mini-houses. I can just sit, look at the next house and think about what to do with it,” says the collector.
