Spouses from Martinček, a village and a municipality in the Ruzomberok district of the Жilina region in the north of Slovakia, managed to find a treasure of ancient coins. They have dug boars and the young couple will now receive 100% of the value of the find.

The couple, walking through the forest, noticed pieces of ceramics and several coins scattered around them. They left the find in place and called the appropriate authorities. They waited on the spot until the archaeologists arrived.

According to local law, if the treasure was discovered and immediately reported to the competent authorities, they, in turn, removed it from the earth by archaeological methods, those who found receive remuneration in the amount of 100% of its value. In this particular case, all requirements have been met.

According to the archeologist Martin Furman, who has been involved in excavations in Zilina for 13 years, he did not experience anything like that. Usually they come to the museum and bring the coins found. Such a case he meets for the first time.

The uniqueness of this treasure is also valuable due to the fact that the specialists managed to investigate it at its location. Coins were collected from an area of about two square meters. The exact number of coins is unknown. At the moment of detection, only 1600 pieces of Hungarian silver denarii were found.

The historical price of the treasure is immeasurable. As for the economic, it will be calculated on the basis of the value of each coin separately.

The treasure is dated 1527 year. Archaeologists associate it with the civil war between Ferdinand Habsburg and Jan Zapoli. Probably the treasure was buried by the merchant.
