A few months ago, a resident of Canada put up for sale 55 Volkswagen Westfalia campers, built on the basis of a Type 2 wagon and the American model Vanagons. A Canadian sold his collection for $ 350,000.

According to the collector himself, all the cars were in good condition for restoration. Their equipment corresponds to the year of manufacture. And, remarkablely, the collection was not sold for one van. But it could be studied in detail by paying $ 500.

The creation of these cars was engaged in the German company Westfalia-Werke. At one time, the most popular were models with a lifting roof based on the T2, which were produced from 1968 to 1979. Some of them are equipped with a kitchen, a table, and a refrigerator.

A full-size replica of the Volkswaget T2 camper with a lifting roof was exhibited at the Munich Tourism Fair. She was created by a certified modeller Lego Rene Hoffmeister, having spent on the construction of six weeks and 400 thousand Lego cubes.
