Fragments of knives and women's jewelry - new finds of archaeologists Chernihiv

67 finds discovered by archaeologists on the Red Square of Chernigov will be cleared and transferred to the National Architectural and Historical Reserve "Chernihiv the Ancients". This information was provided by a researcher at the Institute of Archeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Vitaly Ryzhy.
Among the finds are fragments of knives and women's jewelry, a belt pad, a button, and a pectoral cross. Found them in a former residential building of the first half of the XIII century, which was excavated on the Red Square of Chernigov. At one time this place was built up and was called the Precity.
The house where the finds were found once burned. Its size is 4 by 5 meters and consisted of two rooms. Such a house was considered large.
“He was completely burned. Of course, finding out how the house burned down is impossible. It could have been a Mongol-Tatar invasion, and some kind of natural or domestic cataclysms, ”adds Vitaly Red.
Scientists suggest that the house was heated by a stove. She did not survive because of the fire. Only the pillar structures that supported it were distinguishable.
According to archaeologists, such a find will not slow down the process of reconstruction of Red Square.
