Archaeologists from Greece managed to find a city in the south of the country, preserved from the times of Antiquity. According to them, it was built about 3,000 years ago.
Experts believe that they unearthed a city called Shadow. It was supposedly laid down after the end of the Trojan War - tentatively in the III-XII centuries. BC.
Studies of this area began about 5 years ago. But traces of the existence of the city discovered only recently.
Based on the results of the study of the area, scientists have concluded that sufficiently wealthy citizens lived in Teney. During the excavations a lot of jewelry, rare coins, expensive finishes and other items were found. The reason for such security is the location of the city at the intersection of trade routes.
“Every excavation is important because it brings something new to the world. The team of archaeologists hopes that studying the results will give them a complete picture of the city and its history,” says Elena Korka, director of the Office for the Supervision of Antiques and Private Archaeological Collections at the Ministry of Culture of Greece.
