Among collectors there have always been a lot of peculiar people. Some of them collect stamps and badges, and others - old tanks. Of course, the enthusiasm for military equipment requires significant investment, but they ultimately always pay off, and sometimes unexpectedly.

British collector of military equipment Nick Meade for many years collects old combat vehicles around the world. His collection includes 150 tanks from different eras and armies. Nick buys rusty, malfunctioning "tins" at auctions and, together with his mechanic, Todd Chamberlain, restores them to perfect condition.

Buying, restoring and servicing tanks is not cheap, so Nick Meade organized Tanks-a-Lot, which helps to pay back some investments. Anyone can hire a combat vehicle from the Meade collection and ride it through its private tank training ground. Of course, such a business does not cover all expenses, and Nick's passion is mainly based on enthusiasm and personal savings.

The last acquisition of the collector - the Soviet T-54 tank, turned out to be very successful. When repairing a rusty car, Mead and Chamberlain found 5 gold bars of 6 kg each. The treasure was in one of the tanks of the tank and, apparently, its previous owner did not even guess about the innumerable treasures.

Experts estimated the cost of the precious metal, which turned out to be also the highest standard, at 2 million pounds. The collector believes that the gold was hidden in the car by Iraqi soldiers, as the tank, released in the USSR, for many years faithfully served the army of Saddam Hussein. Despite the lucky discovery, Nick Mead did not get richer by 2 "lemons", as he immediately announced his discovery to the authorities.
