When you buy, sell or change old postcards, knowledge of their condition or level of preservation is necessary. This directly affects the cost of the exhibit. Here you need to refer to the International Classification of Vintage Postcards by the level of preservation.

M - a completely new card, as if just coming from the press. No stamps, bends, folds. There is no letter, no postmark, no album tags. Clean and "new" postcard. In practice, rarely occurs.

NM is almost like a new postcard. Almost like an “M” type postcard, but very easy aging is noticeable, or small characteristic dents from a long stay in the album without movement.

EX is a great postcard. Almost like a postcard of type "M" without bends and folds, without rounded corners or slightly dented corners and without album labels. It can be with a letter and a stamp only on the address side. Clean image on the front side.

VG is a very nice postcard. The corners may be slightly rounded (or cropped). There may be labels on the album on the front side. You can notice a barely noticeable crease or bend that does not spoil the front side of the postcard. May have a letter, stamp and stamp on the back of the postcard.

G is a good postcard. The corners can be noticeably blunt or rounded with noticeable small bends, folds and marks of the album. May have a letter, stamp and stamp on the back of the postcard.

FR - "fair". The postcard is damaged by paint, folds, a letter on the front side. It should be added here restored postcards. Such cards are interesting for collectibles when it is difficult to find a card in a different state.
