Majestic fountains and happy children - photos of Lviv in 1984

These images were printed in the presentation album of the publishing house “Art” in 1984. It was published to promote the city among tourists.

Here are the fountains, squares, flower beds and happy children. There are even frames showing the nature of not only the city, but also the suburbs. They convey a special flavor and atmosphere of the city.

In 1984, on the eve of restructuring, the population of the city was 760,000 people, the area of ​​the city was 138 km², and the housing stock grew 5-fold compared to 1939 and amounted to more than 10 million m².

The influx of population to the enterprises necessitated the construction of affordable housing on the outskirts. By the end of the 1980s, large residential areas were formed.
