A set of coins of yellow metal with par values of 5 and 10 rubles was found in the center of Moscow in Kostyansky Lane. According to archaeologists, they are dated XIX-XX century and belong to the time of the reign of Nicholas II.

“Probably, the owner hid them in the basement during the revolution or the civil war. This treasure has become one of the largest ones found in Moscow over the past few years,” said Alexei Yemelyanov, head of the department of cultural heritage (Moscow heritage).

About 60 coins were kept in a tin box, which at the time of detection was only fragmentary. They were found during the analysis of the basement of the previously existing building. According to experts, the value of the treasure is about a million rubles.

The works of archaeologists who found the coins in Kostyansky lane continue. They hope that this is not all the valuable finds that await them here.
