Odessa Museum presented a picture of Benjamin Babacan

The former head of the Odessa Regional State Administration, Maxim Stepanov, presented the self-portrait by Odessa artist Benjamin Babacan to the art museum of the city.

“From now on in the art museum for one more unique picture. For his 26 years, Odessa Babadzhan managed to do a lot until he was shot by the Bolsheviks in 1920. Of course, the works of such artists should be at home in Odessa,” said Maxim Stepanov.

Veniamin Simovich Babadzhan - poet, artist, art historian. After graduating from the classical gymnasium, he studied at the Law Faculty of the University of Novorossiysk.

In 1914-1918 he served as an ensign in the army. He commanded the 7th separate telegraph company of the Troops of the Novorossiysk region. After the capture of Theodosia, Babacan, like many other White Guard officers, was arrested. In November 1920, was shot.
