Carl Faberge managed to collect the best designers and artists. Over the years the company has created a huge number of fake Faberge products. As a rule, it is rather difficult to distinguish originals from high-quality fakes.

Collectors who decide to buy antiques of such a high level must contact experts or experienced collectors, through whose hands a lot of Faberge jewelry has passed.

All items produced by this legendary company, have a stamp. The stamp could be absent only on small pieces of antiquity that did not have enough space, as well as on platinum ornaments, flower arrangements, animal figurines and some stone items.

At times, the presence of a special case of a firm known among collectors as a “nest” can serve as confirmation of the authenticity of items without a stamp. As a rule, it is non-branded Faberge products that are most often fakes.

Faberge masters never saved on the quantity and quality of silver: they used alloys made from almost pure silver. It is for this reason that all the originals are quite large in weight. Vintage figures of birds and animals with silver and gold beaks and paws of the Faberge company often contained stamps on these fine details.

Flower arrangements were too fragile, so when installing the stigma they could break. Such antiquities were often copied, but, unlike the originals, they contained a complete set of stamps. Some stone figures depicting people were marked on the sole with the words “Faberge” or “Faberge”, and in some cases contained a date. Such products in a silver frame were necessarily branded.

Products of the company are most often made in single copies. If repetitions of objects were created in the workshop, they were carried out in a completely different range of colors. Therefore, the sale of copies, exactly copying expensive originals, should alert buyers. Another sign of a fake product may be the abuse of traditional symbols of the royal family and the image of laurel wreaths.

It is possible to distinguish Faberge items made in the "cloisonne" style after a thorough study of the stamp. In the sixties of the last century, items with cloisonne enamel were purchased on the antique market, the original stamps on which were erased and replaced with Faberge stamps.
