Antique electric car will be sold at auction

The electric car, created in 1898, will be sold at auction on August 15, 2019 during an event called Monterey Car Week.
The Riker Electric Car was created by Andrew Riker, who began experimenting with similar vehicles since 1894. He was co-founder and president of the Society of Automotive Engineers. After Riker sold the company that created electric cars, he began to cooperate with Locomobile. There, the designer came up with his first serial gasoline car.
Riker Electric Car has participated in several well-known competitions. I was able to take prizes on them. At the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900, the car received a gold medal. Until 1930, the designer’s wife used it, and later it was transferred to the Henry Ford Museum.
In 1985, this electric car again returned to the Riker family. They managed to buy it from the museum. Then the car passed to the owners who put it up for this auction.
