The Bank of Latvia will put into circulation 2-euro coin

In Latvia issued a coin called "Rising sun" nominal value of 2 euros. The image of the sun rising from the horizon first appeared in 1915 on the breastplates of Latvian Riflemen. Two years later, the artist Ansis Cīrulis slightly altered pattern, which was then used as the basis of the emblem of the country.

Copies of the new amounted to 300 thousand the Number of instances in the souvenir pack will be 7 thousand. Coins can be purchased in Latvia for 7.9 euros. According to the Bank of Latvia, the new 2 euros will go on sale on September 17.
