Gogol's collected works of the 19th century bought almost 30 thousand hryvnia

In section "Antiquarian book" at auction Violity often appear extremely valuable specimens. One of these recent lots - the collected works of Nikolai Gogol, purchased for 29 901 thousand hryvnia. The edition of 1857 consists of 6 volumes. Some books were slightly damaged, but in General they are preserved in good condition, and contain all the pages. You can find the lot here.

The author was born and grew up in Ukraine, having absorbed native traditions, history, beliefs, which were reflected in his work, inspired the author when creating another masterpiece.
