An impressive fresco has been discovered in Pompeii

During the next excavations of the city of Pompeii, archaeologists found an interesting fresco depicting two gladiators. Researchers believe that the room in which the image was found was once a tavern for fighters.

On the mural you can see a soldier-murmillon in a helmet. He holds a shield in one hand and a short sword in the other. Confronts him Thracian Gladiator, who received during the battle several severe wounds and bleeds. The Thracian may be signaling a pardon with his gesture. The mural is quite large: the length of the work is 1.5 m, and it reaches a width of 1.12 m. not far From the room in which the mural was found, there were barracks in which the soldiers lived.
