At the Morton & Eden auction was exhibited the rarest coin - the Golden Dinar of the Arab Caliphate, minted in 723. The rarity is so unusual and valuable that its initial cost was 1.8 million dollars. Numismatists know only 10 such coins: some are in museums, others belong to collectors.

The gold coin was mined at the mines located not far from Mecca. Once upon a time this land was owned by the prophet Muhammad. On one side of the coin you can see the inscription: "From the mine commander faithful". According to expert Stephen Lloyd, a researcher of Islamic coins, the copy is perfectly preserved and is an important historical heritage.
