A subsidiary of PAMP called Manfra, Tordella & Brookes has prepared a new coin in the shape of a hammerhead shark for the Solomon Islands. The $ 2 coin is made of 999 silver. The circulation was 2500 copies. The obverse shows the profile of Elizabeth II, as well as basic information: denomination, date of issue, material of manufacture. In addition, the number of the coin is indicated, which indicates the exclusivity of each instance. There are no inscriptions on the reverse, but images of fins, teeth and other elements are worked out.

Hammerhead sharks can be found in temperate ocean waters. The shark feeds on crustaceans and cartilaginous fish, is solitary and dangerous to humans, but real attacks are infrequent. The company that issued the coin plans to devote the next edition in 2020 to the tiger shark.
