Ancient sewage system unearthed in Turkey

During archaeological excavations in Boncuklu Tarla, in the South-East of Turkey, archaeologists unearthed an ancient sewer system that operated more than 11 thousand years ago. The first findings in this region were made in 2008, during agricultural work. Once there was a settlement that flourished in the 10-7 Millennium BC. Recently discovered the remains of the temple, which preserved several stelae. The total area of the building is 80 square meters.

In the process of studying the temple, scientists have identified part of the city infrastructure - sewage, and the system is located in the public use zone. Nearby parts of buildings which height, apparently, reached 7 meters are excavated.
