A group of archaeologists, which includes scientists from around the world, found in the city of Marad in Iraq, a large number of cuneiform tablets and fragments. Among the approximately one hundred copies of the eight remained intact and contain inscriptions. In addition to the plates themselves, special products were found that performed the function of envelopes.
Excavations took place on the site of the temple, in the area of the top of the main hill, in the commercial areas of the city. The tablets were unearthed in the area where manufacturing enterprises are concentrated. The age of the artifacts is about three thousand years. The texts have already managed to decipher. They deal with the economic and administrative structure of the ancient city in Mesopotamia. It also contains information about the ancient ship system.
The envelopes are containers that depict hunting scenes. In ancient times, they were decorated with precious stones, which testified to the prestige and wealth of their author.
