In the 20-ies of the last century, the rapid development of the automotive industry began, which led to a rethinking of the urban layout. To save space, the project of introducing automobile elevators and arrangement of vertical Parking spaces was seriously considered. The APS system was developed, which resembles a Ferris wheel in its concept. The popularity of such Parking lots lasted until the 50s. In 1957, 74 Bowser and Pigeon Hole systems were installed. However, interest in them soon declined, as there were often problems with the mechanisms. In addition, drivers had to wait for cars for a long time. In the photo below you can see the vertical Parking, which operated in the first half of the XX century.
