In the Central part of the island of Java, near the village of Dieng Wetan, archaeologists found a statue of the Hindu God Ganesh. 30 people participated in the excavation: in addition to historians, the team included local police and military personnel.

The sculpture, made of andesite, was found by a farmer while plowing a rice field. The artifact was in the ground at a depth of 50 cm the height of the statue is 140 cm and width 120 cm. Find is devoid of hands and head, but the main part has been well preserved. Archaeologists hope to find the rest of the Ganesh fragments and get more information about the cultural heritage of The dienga settlement.

Ganesha is one of the most famous and revered deities in the Hindu Pantheon. He is the patron of the arts and Sciences, intelligence and wisdom.
