In 1801-1922, Ireland was part of the United Kingdom of great Britain and Ireland. In the XIX century, the country experienced economic difficulties, including the Great famine of the 40s. At the end of the nineteenth century, a campaign for Irish self-government began. These photos show how Ireland lived two centuries ago. Horse racing, fishermen, beautiful landscapes - a selection of images shows the diversity of local life.
