The Philippine postal Corporation (PHLPost) has joined companies issuing stamps for the year of the Rat. Two stamps with a face value of 12 pesos and 45 pesos were issued with a circulation of 50 thousand copies. Additional 4 thousand copies are combined with a souvenir sheet. The images were created by artist Rodine C. Teodoro. For the first time, the products will be available at the Central post office in Manila and at offices in several other regions.

Of course, stamps dedicated to the year of the Rat were issued in China itself. Chinese artist Han Meilin worked on the drawings. One stamp shows a family of mice, the other shows a rodent reaching up (perhaps this is how they decided to illustrate one of the legends, according to which a mouse chewed a hole in the sky to let light into the world). The face value of each stamp is 1.2 yuan. The first owners stayed in the post office all night to get philatelic novelties as soon as possible in the morning.
