We present a small selection of photos that capture the daily life of the Irish at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries. the Pictures were published by Valentine and Sons, which operated in the Scottish city of Dundee. The company was founded in 1851 by James Valentine and immediately became the leading manufacturer of postcards in Scotland. In the mid-twentieth century, Valentine and Sons was acquired by John Waddington Limited, and then it was taken over by Hallmark Cards.
