Pixel "Mona Lisa" from Rubik's cubes sold for 480.2 thousand euros

Interpretation of Leonardo da Vinci's painting masterpiece "Mona Lisa" was purchased for 480.2 thousand euros. An unusual picture was created using 330 Rubik's cubes. The starting price of the work was 150 thousand euros, but it increased significantly during the auction. The buyer of the painting remained unknown.

The unusual "Mona Lisa" was assembled in 2005 by a French street artist known by the pseudonym Invader. As a rule, the master works at night and tries not to appear in public. He wears a mask, and only a few know his true face. The first works of the Invader appeared in Paris in the 90's, the mosaics are made in the style of pixel games popular 40 years ago.
