In the Indian temple of Jambukeswarar, which is located in the state of Tamil Nadu, a precious treasure was discovered – a sealed vessel in which 505 gold coins were stored. The pot with the coins was sealed – it was unearthed by workers near the temple. Historians will have to find out what their exact age and history are.
The temple, which is more than 1 thousand years old, was repeatedly repaired. Now the management plans to clear the area of vegetation and create a flower garden. Over the years, the temple has received various donations, not only money, but also gold jewelry. It is possible that the treasure is such a donation or saving of the temple.
Among the coins, one copy is larger than the others – it has inscriptions similar to Arabic ones. The rest depict various Hindu gods. From the place of discovery, the artifacts were sent to the state Treasury for storage.
