Collecting beer labels: where to start

Biophilia – the perfect hobby for beer lovers. This line of collecting includes searching for and purchasing beer cans and bottles, lids, labels, and other items related to this intoxicating drink. The easiest way to assemble covers and labels is to take up a little space and can be stored in a box or envelope. Although, of course, for presentability, you can buy special albums.

Most often, they collect stickers washed off the glass surface. Less often it is possible to find copies that are not used in production and got to collectors directly from the printing plant. When collecting labels, keep in mind that one bottle in addition to the main sticker contains a counter-label (located on the back of the container) and a collerette (pasted on the neck). The most valuable collections include complete sets of stickers.

The collector should think about what categories to divide the collection into. Labels can be distributed by theme, beer type, brand name, color, country, and so on. To remove the label, place the bottle in a basin of warm water. If the label is removed, it must be dried before adding it to the collection. To prevent the labels from blurring and the material from being damaged by water, you can fill the container with hot water and wait for a while. In this case, the water must be very hot, and this method, according to some collectors, does not always work.
