Ole Worm is a Danish medical doctor and collector. He studied embryology and wrote several treatises that were dedicated to the Scandinavian runes. For the first time I used such terms as stalactite and stalagmite. His engravings and descriptions of them were published in the posthumous edition of "Museum Wormianum". Vorm's collection included fossils, stuffed animals, and various artifacts brought from the New World, as well as those found in Europe. The book "Museum Wormianum", which contains information about the collection, consists of four parts devoted to minerals, plants, animals and ethnographic finds.
