The Central Bank of Armenia presented two collectible coins dedicated to the French artist of Armenian origin Jean Jansem. The 100 dram coin is made of 925 silver and has a circulation of 500 copies. It has a rectangular shape (40x28 mm), the weight is 28.2 g. The obverse on the left shows a portrait of the artist with a thoughtful expression on his face. On the right is the drawing "Woman in a yellow dress", created in 1968. The reverse also shows the artist's work - a fragment of the still life "Poppies", painted in 1982.

The 10,000 dram coin is made of 900-grade gold, has a round shape (diameter - 22 mm), and has a weight of 8.6 g. The new product has a Circulation of 300 copies. On the obverse is a profile of Jansem and his signature, indicating the years of birth and death. The reverse shows the work "Woman with masks", written in 1978.

In the 30s of the last century, the artist studied at the free Academy of Montparnasse, and in 1938 graduated from the Paris Academy of decorative arts. In the paintings of the master portrayed the poor and excluded people. Many of his paintings contain Armenian national motifs. In 1944, Jean Jansem first showed his works at an exhibition. He illustrated books, including editions by Cervantes and Baudelaire.
