A purse decorated with cloisonne enamel was sold on the Violiti website at the beginning of last week. After 44 bids, the lot reached its maximum rate of 40,160 UAH. The attention of users was attracted by the excellent condition of the product and its exquisite painting technique.

Last Tuesday, May 12, a lot was sold on Violiti called “Wallet 84 sample, cloisonne enamel”. The item is made of silver 84 spool and decorated with cloisonne enamel. The condition of the lot was positioned by the seller as excellent: marks are clearly visible on the side surface, the lock is in working condition, it was listed in the description.

As mentioned above, wallet flaps are decorated with one of the most labor-intensive and complex enamel techniques — cloisonne enamel. On a blue background, along the central part there is an inscription: “He who saves money will live unnecessarily”. This immediately emphasizes the semantic link of the product to money. Above and below the text is decorated with floral ornaments using red, blue, blue, white and green colors.

To create such products, first on a thin metal plate, as a rule, copper, gold, silver, cupronickel or stainless steel, they traced, engraved or cut the contour of the future image. Further, metal strips, acting as partitions, were soldered along it. Their thickness usually did not exceed 1 mm. Such strips could be either closed or open of various shapes and sizes.

Each cell was filled with enamel to the upper edge of the septum and fired. After that, the enamel was polished and polished. These stages were carried out in such a way that the enamel and the top of the partitions were in the same plane. It is the complete, without recesses, enamel filling of the cells — a hallmark of cloisonne enamels.

At the exit, the masters received multi-colored images from enamel, which outwardly resembled inlaid with precious stones. Often products contained not only drawings, but also inscriptions. Sometimes the inscriptions and drawings were combined. Like, for example, the above lot.

Also, the sale of the lot from the section "Jewelry from precious metals, stones and jewelry" was written earlier. Earrings with diamonds, made in Soviet Yakutia, sold for 47 thousand UAH. The product complemented the result of jewelry-gemological examination and evaluation.
