A set of awards for labor achievements of the USSR is another interesting lot on the Violiti website. Orders and medals for work have always attracted the attention of collectors because of their intangible moral value. They were a confirmation of high achievements in production, research, socio-cultural and socially useful activities.

The Lot “Labor Rewards. TKZ-Screw.”, sold on Violiti’s website for $ 1901, included four orders. Three orders of the Red Banner of Labor, two of which are pendant, and the third with screw fastening. The fourth is the Order of the Badge of Honor. They were handed over to the head of one of the country's railways, who later worked as deputy minister of communications, the description of the lot says.

Silver orders of the Red Banner of Labor have an oval shape. Their edges are made in the form of gears, the upper parts of which are covered with a banner of ruby-red enamel with gold letters "USSR".

In the center are gilded images of a sickle and a hammer against the background of a hydroelectric power station and a railway bridge. Below — a frame of golden oak wreaths. On the gears there are inscriptions: "Workers of all countries, unite!" In the lower part, wheat ears spread to the right and left, intercepted by a wide ribbon with a star.

The silver order "Badge of Honor" is also oval. In the center there are figures of workers carrying banners with the inscription "Workers of all countries, unite!" In the upper part there is a star, under which the letters "USSR", in the lower — the inscription "Badge of Honor".

The banners and the star are covered with ruby red enamel and bordered by gilded rims. The flagpoles and inscriptions are gilded, oak branches, the lower part of the order and its general background are oxidized.

According to the seller, the restoration of orders was not carried out. There were minor defects on the screw and pendant orders of the Red Banner of Labor — a flake in the right corner of the banner, a micro chip on the enamel of the false star, and a micro chip on the star, respectively. Also on the reverse of all four orders were marked with red varnish marks.

Orders of the Red Banner of Labor and the Badge of Honor were awarded to citizens of the USSR, enterprises, organizations, districts, cities and other settlements. They noted significant labor services to the state and society in the field of production, science, culture, literature, public education, health care, as well as other areas of work.
